Notes
Scenes from the life of Christ parodied by illustrations of the Pope's life and government. The latter are followed by quotations from the canon law, the former by quotations chosen chiefly from the Gospels (in a translation differing from that of Luther). The selection of these quotations was presumably begun by Luther and continued by Melanchthon, assisted by Schwertferger. See Lutzow, p. 185-186.
Signatures: A-B⁴, C⁶.
