Psalms I-LIV, printed in 1951-1954 by Bro. Antoninus (W. Everson), predated 1957 as part of a planned edition of the whole Psalter; with new preliminary pages, incl. an introd. by Everson, printed by S. and L. Marks at the Plantin Press.
The Psalms, in the Latin translation by Pontificio istituto biblico, are numbered I-LIII.
"Number 10 [presented by Countess Estelle Doheny to the Pierpont Morgan Library] of 48 copies, each containing 72 pages of the Novum Psalterium Pii XII, printed by Brother Antoninus, O.P. Preliminary pages printed by Saul & Lilian Marks at the Plantin Press, Los Angeles."

A work printed to commemorate the five hundredth anniversary of the publication of the first Psalter, August 14, 1957, and using the same methods used five centuries ago by Johann Fust and Peter Schoeffer in Mainz. The printing was begun in the autumn of 1951 and the first 72 pages only were completed when Brother Antoninus closed his press in the spring of 1954.
