Composition of fragments with English Heraldry at center, and fragments with exotic birds (Lowlands), and the dove of holy spirit
Acquired by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), New York, and installed in his library 1907-1909.
At the top of the panel is a fragment of the dove of the holy spirit. Below this is a crest featuringa band of three stars, red grapes, fleur de lis, horses heads, a cross with scallops (?) and three maltese crosses. Flanking this crest at top are a female saint with a crucifix at left, and a seated monk or evangelist. Below this on either side are fragments containing birds, and below this are two roundels featuring bishop heads.
