Composition of fragments with two male monastic saints and figure of a woman (English), roundel of flight to Egypt (Lowlands)
Acquired by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), New York, and installed in his library 1907-1909.
Two monks at top: on left, a monk holds a crozier in front of a floral backdrop, while the monk to the right holds a staff. Between them is a small fragment of a bishop's hat. Below the bishop's hat is an undecernable inscription and a woman in a floral dress. Below this is a roundel featuring a scene depicting the flight into Egypt. A rectangular panel with a cherub is featured at the bottom left, while a fruit garland is in a rectangular panel on the lower right.
