The central scene depicts the wedding at Cana (Jn 2:1-12). A long table where the wedding party has gathered for a meal dominates the composition. The figure scene is framed on the sides by blue borders with central red cartouches. At the bottom of the scene are six amphorae with water, the contents of Christ which will transform into wine. At the base of the panel, in the center of the inscription, is the coat of arms of Matthew Brügger. The upper picture depicts a herder driving oxen, one of which attempts to mount another.
