Summary

In front of a white background, husband and wife stand on a plain floor against a horizontally striped wainscot. The bearded man wears a doublet, harem trousers, and hose, all black as well as a black hat with white feathers. He rests his right hand on the Swiss dagger tied to his belt and in his right holds a halberd that extends into the upper scene. His wife, in white cap and neck ruff, extends a welcome cup in her right hand. She is dressed in a gown with tight long-sleeved bodice, and long purples skirt with white apron. They are framed by simple supports terminating in a red lintel with a central blue boss. Above, to the left Abraham, is about to sacrifice Isaac when an angel intervenes. On the right the three angels sit to the right side of a table while Abraham serves them from the left. Sarah can be glimpsed at the door behind the angels, listening.
