Decoration of M.846.1a: written in white on a gold background; gilding and floral motifs were added after the four pieces of paper were joined.
Decoration of M.846.1b: written in white on a gold background; has decoration of feathery saz leaves, flowers, and stems painted in gold with red and blue accents between the lines; the wide borders are purple and there is an inner border of aqua and orange.
