Made for Louise de Savoie, duchess of Angoulême (1476-1531) (arms and portrait on fol. 1); owned in the 16th century by Armand (signature on fol. 3v); J.-B. Huzard (1755-1838) (signature on fol. 1); his sale, Paris, 1842, v. 1, no. 4444; owned in 1843 by T(ripier?) who had it bound by Bauzonnet-Trautz (inscriptions on front and back flyleaves); Baron Jérôme-Frédéric Pichon (1812-1896); his sale, Paris, 1869, no. 473) to Bachelin-Deflorenne; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Alexandre Imbert in July 1910; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
