Provenance: 
Executed around Tournai for a native of England before 1400; in Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries; on fol. 93 the inscription: Ex Libris Giuseppe Rossi; on last flyleaf a presentation inscription dated Naples, 1707; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Canessa in 1907; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).

Ms. book of hours for the use of Rome (Hours of the Virgin); written and illuminated in Belgium, perhaps around Tournai, end of the 14th century.
Decoration: 5 full-page miniatures, repainted, probably in England, in the 15th century.
