Written for a bishop or abbott (arms: gules a lion or); belonged ca. 1710 to Nicolas-Joseph Foucault, III, Marquis de Magny, fl. 1731-1757, his arms sable, a lion argent on the engraved ex-libris inside front cover; numbers 34 and 120 in old collections; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Pearson in 1908; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
