Louis XI and Charlotte of Savoy (or possiblyYolande of France and Amédée of Savoy), whose arms were added in the borders of the large miniatures; bought privately from Quaritch by A. Chester Beatty (his W ms. 95 [alternatively W ms. 67A; 79; 86]), 1923; his sale, London, Sotheby's, June 24, 1969, lot 59; bought by Arthur Haddaway (1901-1981) of Fort Worth, Texas.
Ms. book of hours for the use of Paris; written and illuminated in Paris, ca. 1420-1425.
Decoration: 13 large and 9 small miniatures, and 24 calendar illustrations, with full borders on nearly every leaf, most incorporating grotesques, animals, and insects.
