Arms of first owner partly erased (on a chief or six cinquefoils gules?); bought Oct. 26, 1896 by Richard Bennett, his bookplate, his Catalogue, 1906, no. 58; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) with the Bennett Collection in 1902; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
Ms. book of hours for the use of Rouen (Hours of the Virgin, calendar, Office of the Dead); written and illuminated in Rouen, France, ca. 1480.
Artist: Workshop of the Master of the Rouen Échevinage.
Decoration: 14 full-page miniatures, 35 border historiations, 24 calendar illustrations; kneeling donors (a couple) on fol. 45 before their patron saints, John the Baptist and Anne.
