According to a handwritten note on the dealer's description, the many inscriptions in blue on the edges of pages refer to a library to which the manuscript belonged.
Decoration: 2 full-page title pages (fol.s 1v-2) covered with sheets of solid leaf gold, stippled, inset with short texts, topped by a painted flower-filled vase, surrounded by delicate interlace and floral patterns; colophon page (fol. 304v), colophon framed within oval space, surrounded by leaf and flower designs in gold and orange paint, framed in gold; all text blocks with narrow gold frame; 2 small marginal drawings; the Kaaba at Mecca (fol. 183v) and a mosque (fol. 190v), 29 gold vases with flower bouquets on verso margins, marking beginnings of suras.
