Two 19th-century molded papier mâché covers, lacquered and gilded, inset with colored glass circles over foil and smaller chips of mother or pearl, the beginning and ending paper leaves pasted onto the inside of each cover.

Ms. buddhist texts, written in Burma, dated 1809.
Decoration: foliage and flower drawing and decorative motifs in black ink on the opening folio of the manuscript.
The leaves are pasted together along their longest sides and accordion folded.
