M.874 is a leaf from an incomplete and widely dispersed Gospel Book known as the Codex Purpureus Petropolitanus (Codex N), the largest part of which is held in St. Petersburg, National Library of Russia, MS Gr. 537 (182 folios); other surviving leaves are found in the following collections: Patmos, Monastery of St. John the Evangelist, MS 67 (33 folios); Athens, Byzantine Museum, Fragment 21 (1 folio); Lerma, Spinola Library, (1 folio); London, British Library, MS Cotton Titus C.XV (4 folios); Thessaloniki, Archeological Museum, MS Am 25.14 (1 folio); Vienna, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, MS Vindob.
