Ms. psalter; written and illuminated in Oxford, England, ca. 1270.
Decoration: 1 full-page miniature, 7 full-page miniatures with compartments, 8 large and 178 small historiated initials, 23 calendar illustrations.
"The style is English with some French influence, and closely resembles that of the Bible of William of Devon in the British Museum (Royal MS. I.D.1) and a smaller Book of Hours also in the British Museum (Egerton MS. 1151). In the opinion of Dr. E.G. Millar, all three manuscripts were executed at the same place in approximately the same period."--Morgan files.
