Summary
Manuscript of Calderwood's History of the Kirk [Church] of Scotland, covering the years 1555-1638. Text is divided into sections by year, and a running head on each page lists the year being chronicled. Containing the history, followed by "Acts concluded, articles petitioned be the generall assemblies, & questions solved, be such as wer deputed to that effect, not insert in the preceeding historie", transcripts of meetings of the general assembly, and "A trew relation of the prelates cariage for introducing the service booke book [sic] of Canons and wther innovationes Laitlie pressed wpon the church of Scotland and the subiectes Lavfwll proceidings in oppressing the same." With extensive cancellations and revisions in the hand of the author.
