This letter was enclosed in MA 62.56, an autograph letter signed from John Cam Hobhouse to Sir Charles Forbes (dated Mar. 31). Hobhouse states that Byron's letter was written in 1812. Possible months of writing during 1812 are from the printed version of the letter.
