Summary
Writing that he is glad that she and her sisters are pleased with John Morley's biography of their father, Richard Cobden (published in 1881); adding "I have read the two volumes thro' carefully, & with great interest, and know not how to criticize them adversely -- they come up to my expectations & my wishes. What I desire now is that everybody should read them -- what a mine of wisdom & of teaching there is in them!"
