Summary
Asking Froude to help him get a back issue of Fraser's Magazine; saying "Will you work a small miracle for me, and make the Longmen Clerk restore me my Fraser. I have written either twice or thrice to him, in the plainest hand and the most explicit words, but it is no use: he goes on like gravitat'n - and my poor Fraser must ag'n have gone (I perceive) to St. Leonard's; where the Post office Clerk has now forgotten my Chelsea Address! Intervene in pity : the works of Him I call Chaos are really growing too manifold on me! - - Better news from Scotland lately (that is the work of Another Party!) - news fairly rather better there; and my poor Wife coming home to me before long. Adieu - for a month or how long? Hasten you also, what you can."
