Part of a collection of 80 letters from William Collins to his wife Harriet Geddes Collins and 35 letters primarily to William Collins from various friends and acquaintances. Items in this collection are described in individual records (MA 3154.1-115).
Watermark: dove holding an olive branch in its beak; surmounted by AMIES; and with 1833 below.
William Hookham Carpenter was the Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum, and the brother-in-law of the painter William Collins.
With seal and postmarks, and addressed to "Mr. W.H. Carpenter / 10 Nottingham Place / London."
