Summary
Telling Knight that she was pleased to hear that he has begun work on a biography of John Nichol, the first Regius Professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Glasgow, and a mutal friend; writing that she has found four letters from Nichol in her possession, three written to William Bell Scott and one to her; promising to look further and to send him any other letters she may find; mentioning that she was very interested in Knight's biographical introduction to "Literature of the Georgian Era," by the scholar William Minto, another mutual friend; writing that "It has given me heartfelt pleasure to know that you are among those who were attracted in early life by the works of the two brothers David & W. B. Scott, the latter being my very dearest friend"; adding that she has heard from Professor Minto about Knight's recent visit to see him in Aberdeen, "so that altogether I do not feel like a stranger."
