Notes
The year of writing is not given however Buxton published two articles in the Contemporary Review in 1881, one in February issue and one in May. Alexander Strahan lost ownership of Strahan & Co. in 1872 and the name of the firm was changed to Isbister & Company, however Alexander Strahan published again as Strahan & Co. from 1876-1882.
