Acquired as part of a large collection of letters addressed to William Angus Knight, Chair of Moral Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews and Wordsworth scholar. Items in the collection have been individually accessioned and cataloged.

Summary
Reporting that "...the cast in question was at our Lodge till the death of the late Master Dr. Thompson, in October 1886. It was then presented by Mrs. Thompson to our present distinguished Vice-Master Mr. W. Aldis Wright, the Editor of the Cambridge Shakespeare &c &c. He, on being shown your letter, has in the kindest way restored the cast to the Lodge, & it now lies in my Hall. Please let us know what you think will be the next step?;" inviting him to stay at Trinity College on his next visit."
