Summary
Thanking him for a book and apologizing for not having acknowledged it sooner: "I got home, with much difficulty, from Switzerland at the end of August, and went away again at once, and even when I returned I did not find till now the package which my house-keeper had separated from the letters lying here for me"; telling him that he appreciates the beauty of the book and the arrangement of the poems: "... and I know that when I read again your note on the passage in the Ode to Liberty [probably a reference to the poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley] I shall think of it as I did before"; mentioning that he is sending Cobden-Sanderson "a trifle which I contributed to a 'Festschrift' in honour of an old colleague in Liverpool."
