Concerning a painting by Armstrong that Turner purchased and which had been on exhibition at The Royal Academy; asking if he would like the alterations to it done before it is shipped to Manchester or would he like Armstrong to work on it in Manchester; asking Turner for "...that beautiful pamphlet on the exhibition by Davies? I do not give up much time to literature of that kind but as this was, although printed, a sort of private letter I must be able to show the author I have looked into it when we meet;" apologizing that he was not at home when his friend called.
