Summary
Concerning the library of Bishop Stillingfleet, and the catalogue Marsh was preparing for the sale of it; recommending that the catalogue be printed on good paper and bound properly, so that it is not merely an auction catalogue but a "standing book afterwards as Thuanus, Cordaesius, Heinsius's Catalogues are"; suggesting that it be in octavo format; suggesting that Marsh use the Cambridge press for the printing of the catalogue: "Our letter & work is neater; & what is the principal thing, you will have it finished twice as soon here"; advising him to obtain paper from "Sr Theodore Jansen of London, who is the greatest dealer in the commodity of any in England"; telling him that most of the smaller stationers buy their paper from Jansen; mentioning that Marsh can negotiate the terms of payment with him: "I speak this, upon taking it for granted, that you print at your own Charg [sic]"; suggesting a print run of 450, with 100 of those copies printed on coarse paper for distribution and use at the auction; adding, about the Cambridge press, that "[y]our agreement with our Press I can make for you; and our Corrector without any help is well able to do his part"; thanking Marsh on behalf of himself and his wife for the present of lampreys.
