Summary
Saying "We sent you a cup of friendship which I hope has reached you - All good wishes for many years of happiness to you both from us both! Walter [Blaikie] is very seedy - cold fever & overwork. He has been in bed for some days & now looks like a ghost. He is having massage and[illegible]. He ought to go away for six months. I fear Low(?) is in a bad way. He had another operation on Sunday & so far is going on all right, but periodic stones with other & I fear much more serious complications cannot go on long. We are both well & enjoying Edinburgh. It is nice to see people & to be welcomed by them. By the way Nalborough(?) is here and is going to post this. He desires to send his remembrances & asks me to tell you that he has been working at Bach's Fugues & other good music. All hail oh chief, live for ever! Write to me about anything literary or otherwise."
