Summary
Concerning an accounting discrepancy relating to the 75th Regiment [Abercomby's Highlanders]; adding that if the decision of the Government is "unfavorable, I shall have reason to lament my hard Fate, as it will give a serious Check to the [illegible] Improvements [illegible] on here, the Superintendence of which is the only employment I am now fit for, and which, in fact has kept me alive, since my Return from India;" concluding that he hopes to see him soon and promises him "good Mutton, good Wine and a most hearty welcome."
