Sending this letter by way of a mutual acquaintance (Mr. Stanser) going to Halifax; taking that opportunity to convey his lasting fondness of and friendship with the Wentworths; discussing a matter involving Mr. Stanser and the Halifax garrison occupying a large part of his chateau, the Nova Scotia military commander, and a petition by Mr. Stanser; asking Wentworth to aid that claim; conveying good wishes of Madame de St. Laurent, "who has just come in."
