Notes
Danseville is Antoine-Nicolas Dandasne-Danseville (1734-1816), former French commandant and ordonnateur of St. Pierre and Miquelon who surrendered the islands to the British in 1793 and was their prisoner for some years after.

Summary
Acknowledging receipt of letters of October 10 and December 31; having just sent letters (in the care of Lieutenant Coffin of the Royal Artillery, son of Colonel Coffin of New Brunswick); hoping Wentworth will visit England in the fall to see Edward and Madame de St. Laurent at Castle-Hill Lodge, where the latter will be residing until the end of the year; congratulating him on the progress of Nova Scotia under Wentworth's governance, citing example of a fleet from Jamaica using large amount of supplies without consequent price increases in Halifax; speaking of a "servant" Dalton, who seems to have also been in the employ of the Wentworths; discussing prospect of war with the French recommencing; mentioning cases of governor Danseville, another individual, and Major Lyons; sending good wishes of Madame de St. Laurent.
