The referenced Monsieur de Calonne is Charles Alexandre de Calonne (1734-1802), finance minister to Louis XVI, who was granted land after the French Revolution on St. John's Island (now Prince Edward Island) that was settled by his family, including brother Jacques-Ladislas-Joseph de Calonne (1743-1822), a priest.
