Summary
Thanking him for sending her the review of Kemp Niver's new book (a possible reference to his "Mary Pickford, comedienne") from The News Tribune, and adding "I share your approval of the very fine job he has done"; referring to Wagenknecht's "paragraphs" about her style of acting and relating an anecdote concerning George Cukor's reaction upon viewing "The New York hat" "when it was shown before the Delta Kappa Alpha fraternity at USC", when he turned to her and said "Why you were just naturally doing 'method acting' before anyone had heard of it"; mentioning that Lillian Gish comes to the West Coast on rare occasions "and we always have a pleasant telephone visit."; noting that Gish made two appearances there last year, "one at UCLA, and another one later at Cal-Tech" and that both were sold out and concluded with standing ovations; writing that she has been leading "a very solitary existence" while Buddy Rogers has been busily making appearances for charity.
