Summary
Apologizing for not thanking him for sending her his book on Longfellow, recounting her travels to Europe and various cities in the United States, and mentioning the death of her secretary, Mrs. Lewis, and writing that, as a result, her "correspondence has been greatly neglected", and had mistakenly believed she had already written to thank him for his "generous review in the Chicago Tribune" of her autobiography; informing him that she and her husband (Buddy Rogers) will be leaving for Europe on the 16th of December, where he will be entertaining the troops in France and Germany and she will be visiting her niece and daughter Roxanne, who is attending school in Barcelona; mentioning that she will be in New York December 17-19, and suggesting that he telephone her while she is there.
