Summary
Affirming he would be “delighted” to be “of any use” to Williams in his “proposed work”; expressing he does not know when he will next be “in town” nor where he will be “for the next week or two”; saying he has not decided whether he will stand for the upcoming Leominster parliamentary by-election; explaining that, if he decides to stand, he will next be in Leominster (possibly “till the Elections in February”), and, if he decides not to, he will be “either here or in the Isle of Wight” “for some weeks”; suggesting, if the latter occurs, for Williams to "come to me for a day or two" and "bring your books"; apologizing that his absence from Knebworth has prevented his receiving something; saying he has not yet seen "your work" involving "my progenitors" and expressing hope he will soon; instructing he has enclosed "a letter for Mr. Chapman"; wishing a "Plague on this ink!" in a postscript.
