Announcing "It wasn't whooping cough!" in regards to her son Anthony's recent illness and that she will be back in town on Monday; inviting him to attend the Russian Ballet or Marie Lloyd with H.G. Wells and herself, adding "You are so delightfully grown up that you'll be a great relief after my fortnight's infant minding.", and that "I will cheerfully give G.B.S. a guinea for the British Music Society. I am so happy that I would give anybody a guinea for anything."
