Summary
Acknowledging receipt of request for the loan of some books of plays and informing him that he has applied to Mr. (W.) Clarke, who is "the only medium thro' which the books you want, can be procured", and who has declined to lend them "except to Mr. W. Farrere himself", and suggesting that a letter from Farrere to "W.C." would prove successful in obtaining the plays, should they still be wanted; going on the write that he agrees that a winter season would likely be successful, and stating that his "best wishes or assistance shall not be wanting."; with a note added in the upper left hand margin informing him that "We have tonight der Freischutz ... Mr. & Mrs. Keeley O. Smith Brough & my Brother and Self!!!"
