Notes
This letter cannot be to Emmanuel de Pastoret because it speaks of 'Madame votre fille' ('your daughter'), but he did not have a daughter. It is probably to Amédée de Pastoret, Emmanuel's son. He had a daughter.
Latest date of the letter derived from its contents; the Princesse de Bauffremont speaks of spending time with both sons, and one died in 1842.
Provenance
Acquired in 1959.
Summary
Saying that she thinks that his time must still be taken up by his pain because she hasn't heard from him for so long. She was ill for a week, and as soon as she felt better, she spent all her time with her sons. They touchingly tried to make her think positive thoughts about the child [unidentified, mentioned in other letters] who could not recover from his illness. All this emotion forced her to have to rest again; rest seems to be becoming her entire existence and is quite boring.
