Describing the results of the "hedious [sic] past two weeks"-- a 15% gross [theatrical] deal with Universal, and 60% for television; noting that the London papers are full of items about "Heat and Dust" and confessing to being "a little worried that perhaps we are overdoing it"; enclosing a letter from Robin Dalton [Jhabvala's agent], a statement, and a copy of Merchant's reply to Dalton [see MA 23840.1588a]; listing the payments he is putting into a bank account for her, and asking that she "not worry or agitate" about it as the total payment has almost been met; telling her "Heat and Dust" will be at Cannes, Ava wants to bring her cat to the [London] premiere, and he is sending first-class tickets to Jennifer and Shashi for them to attend.
