Summary
Referring to Watson's collection of stories (i.e. "The heart of Miranda and other stories") as "a god-send", as he has been confined to his bed owing to a "punch I had in the kidney some years ago" which "has not healed so completely as it seemed"; writing tht he liked "The stone chamber" particularly, along with "the Dead Wall & the young couple at Southampton", adding "I like you best when you are bold & bloody so that I was not so greatly pleased by the Heart of Miranda. And the last story was no manner of pleasure to a man sick in bed. Don't you mind these comments too much -- it is only the kidney in criticism."
