Summary
Acknowledging a letter and expressing concern at the news that Kate has been sleeping so poorly; noting that she read her sister's letter to (their brother) Edmund and told their father of its contents; informing her that their father has been ill and confiding that she believes he needs a vacation on "his beloved moors"; mentioning that his article for Blackwoods has arrived, but that there is no sense in sending it to her as "you would have no opportunity of reading it", and adding "What a curious life that must be without any reading I should hate it, but it suits some people I suppose"; concluding in a postscript "I hope Piffie is all right again now."
