Summary
Writing Bentley that some time since he "read a novel in ms. written by the daughter of a gentleman of my acquaintance - Mr. Staniforth", and recommending it to him for possible publication; adding that he has promised her an introduction to Bentley and that he would regard it as a favor to himself if Bentley would hear her read; mentioning that her father is wealthy and that he supposes, therefore, that she is only seeking publication on whatever terms he might consider sound.
