Summary
Pointing out that the House has refused by a large majority to grant an appeal from the decision of the Chief Court of Police in cases of offenses under the Hackney and Stage Carriage Act, and stating that he does not therefore "think any attempts to obtain an alteration of the law in that respects would be successful"; stressing his position as a supporter of the appeal, while at the same time lamenting reports that the omnibus trade intends to follow the example of the hackney carriage proprietors and stop running, a step which would place the trade "in the wrong".
