Letter from Charles Adolphus Murray, Earl of Dunmore, Nouméa, to Mr. James, 1902? June 5 : autograph manuscript signed.

Writing that he received the "photo proofs" and stating that "if you can manage to obliterate that part of my chest which in the photo makes me look like a wet-nurse out of a job (in the 2 proofs with hat on) then I would like to have half a dozen but in their present state they are absolutely indecent!!"; going on to note that the photo of himself without the hat "alongside your father" is "ghastly" and that the one of his father "is just as bad"; going on to write that he has no news and that he got his father's wire "saying mill working 24 hours"; informing him that he is sending down a lot of papers and some books "for the Pilon Library".
