Reporting that he had been away "profitting by the change" but got overtired on the last day; relaying thaat "Alfred Knopf has returned from his holiday and has also sent me an Agreement for the Collection of Short Stories" and quoting Knopf's reply regarding word limits and wanting a table of contents; discussing "Agreement with the Macmillan Co." and quoting reproduction clause which applies favorably to "This new Collection"; deciding what to do about representation by M.C.A and discussing royalties and their ability "to deal with the serialization of the new poems, of which there are--hold your breath--well over 100"; saying "I have written to August Derleth saying how intensely sorry I am about the Cornhill stories. Do send me a word of forgiveness"; noting progress of ghost stories.
