Discussing Wagenknecht's possible work on "W. de la M" and saying "I cannot see anything in the least satisfactory in the way of dollars in this--well, ageing author" and asking him instead to focus on "far more profitable work"; relaying what he wrote to A.K. this morning regarding selections for the anthology by Wagenknecht; approving of the selection options and being surprised by "'The Talisman'--a very old story written by a youngish gentleman who had never set eyes then on a single acre of Switzerland"; saying he hasn't yet gotten to the Detective Stories.
