Saying he spoke to Edith before she left for India and she told him she was lloking forward to seeing her (Ruth) there; recounting Renana's recent visit to New York, and how they all went downtown to see Wally's play at the Public; describing "Mr. Shawn sitting with Mrs. Shawn in the first row [and] Wally holding Debbie's hand through out [sic] the production"; telling her that as he writes, "Jim is being drawn by Don Bachardy"; saying he likes Christopher Isherwood; admitting he would very much like to have a box office success and thinking Isherwood's "A Meeting by the River" might do it, with Ivory and Madhur on the project.
