Forgetting "how many letters I am at the moment down."; approving poems to include in anthology and suggesting "Before Dawn"; saying "As for what you said about The Burning-Glass - the book - well, you know all that means to me" and saying that he reads his copy of "THE FIRESIDE BOOK OF CHRISTMAS STORIES"; replying to suggestion that he "should attempt an introduction to your anthology about children and childhood--well, if only I can, I most certainly will."; adding that he is "suffocated with correspondence and very stupid just now to boot" and noting that "this is not any real answer to your letters" but only answering pressing questions.
