Thornton; restating that he would find it difficult; recounting browsing a copy of "UNDERSTANDING POETRY by Cleanth Brooks, Jnr, and Robert Penn Warren, recently published by Holt's" and feeling another anthology would be redundant; feeling he has written so much on the subject that there might not be enough left; saying that the American edition of "BELLS AND GRASS" will be published in October, same time as the English; commenting on "H.G.W's reception of your chapter on him in your book" and wondering if he has "ever read the correspondence between H.G.W. and the soliciter of the Authors' Soceity over here" that "all but resulted in an action for slander, I fancy."; saying that "the MS of SONGS OF CHILDHOOD had been purchased by the Library of Congress; updating on the Love Anthology progress.
