The final screenplay for Call Me By Your Name was written by James Ivory based on the novel of the same title by André Aciman. The film was directed by Luca Guadagnino and produced by Guadagnino, Ivory, and Emile Georges, and starred Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. The screenplay won the 2018 Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, making Ivory at 89 the oldest winner of a competitive Oscar in the Academy's history.

Each of the thirty-one films he directed for Merchant Ivory Productions is represented in the collection, beginning with the production company's first film, The Householder (1963), and including, among others, The Europeans (1979), A Room with A View (1985), Howards End (1992), The Remains of the Day (1993), The Golden Bowl (2000), and The City of Your Final Destination (2010).
